No one, not even the told you so "Bremainers" would want to have the fallout that is likely to happen. We might feel smug about it, but that would be short lived as the quality of our lives will also feel pinch.

I don't know where you get your info from Prof. Phos, but I am fairly certain no British citizen wants to be punished. The thing is, we will be punished, economically (although not deliberately, along with the EU) and politically, as we will have very little say in EU policy and that will be punishment enough.
