So it's a bad thing if the EU creates some set of laws that the UK has to follow as EU member, but if the UK incorporates the very same set of laws as part of Brexit that set of laws is a good thing.

I'm sure this makes sense. Somehow.

Totally agree!
The parliament makes the laws, government acts on them. So the parliament should create a law that orders the goverment to invoke article 50
