I find this funny too. Someone recently told me that you can get fined if you break the rule. Apparently you should adhere to the proper crossings if you're within 50 metres of one.

There's nothing I particularly hate about Switzerland. I find plenty of quirky things here though. In many ways they make a place more interesting. It would be so very boring if everything was the same everywhere.
