But he is a politician and, therefore, operates out of principle and would not be swayed by crude financial pressure, such as docking his salary/pension etc.) into moderating his firmly held beliefs. So that can't explain his alleged support for a second referendum. More likely, it is the the realisation that for for Britain, leaving the EU would be as equally bad as staying in it.
