I have a good friend who has EU citizenship and came to Switzerland a little under 6 months ago (B work permit). While their position is secure - i.e., they're not going to get fired - it's not the role they envisioned and are interested in working elsewhere but would like to stay in Basel.

Assuming they can find another job is it possible to quit their position mid-contract, transfer to another one, without losing their work-permit?

(Given their background and the open-ended search window, getting a new job offer would not be an issue.)
