Re: Withdrawing Swiss Pension after Leaving Switzerland

Here, in German, is some of the background:
https://www.123-pensionierung.ch/de/...uswandern-bvg/

https://www.123-pensionierung.ch/de/...ug-auswandern/

and this article, also in German, includes references to the relevant laws about the obligatory pension (BVG) and parts which are non-mandatory ("überobligatorish" or "BVG-übersteigend"):
https://www.helvetia.com/content/dam...-infoblatt.pdf

In addition to Heinz' list quoted above, an insured event must not yet have taken place, i.e. neither a disability leading to a pension, nor must the old-age pension have commenced running. As soon as either of these events has occurred, no pension moneys can be withdrawn from the funds. But the pensions continue to be paid out, irrespective of country of residence (outside of Switzerland) of the recipient, but not before Swiss ("Quellensteuer") has been deducted.
