The UK Government has lost a key Brexit vote, with the upper House of Parliament backing calls to remain in the EU customs union after Brexit.

The House of Lords voted 348 to 225 to amend the government's EU Withdrawal Bill, which will now return to the House of Commons where the defeat is likely to spur renewed opposition.

Getting tedious.......
So A50 does not provide for any such option, the EU says it is not possible and yet these guys vote for it... does anyone there understand the process they are involved in??

An new customs union would be a separate agreement, subject to WTO approval and given the nature of the deal they want, would require the UK to give up most rights to negotiate trade deals - just like the other 27 members of the union....
