Just to make sure I am not telling you anything that isn't totally true - I actually am not 100% sure about the Foundation Year - you can definitely work as an Assistenzarzt without it but you may run into trouble if after 3 years you try and get your Diploma recognised in Switzerland. I had worked in SA for 3 years, so it wasn't an issue for me. Check here (MEBEKO) or email them directly, but yes, they generally sent me very generic replies as well and you had to push a bit and do your own research (ie. read the EU Guidelines you can find via Google that they refer to) if you really wanted to know something specific -
