Better not raise your hopes too high.

According to the Spiegel, German foreign minister Heiko Maas says access to the EEA "a la carte" is out of the question. Only access "as is" is possible, ie effectively the Norwegian model with all components (submission to EU regulations and ECJ, payments into the EU budget, etc). Reportedly Barnier said essentiall the same. Haas sees the Irish-NI border as the last big hurdle.
