I understand that, for political reasons, the communes are under pressure to revoke permits from UE that are no longer valid.

There is no EU quota and those that qualify continue to get their permits. But they are trying to ensure that when someoneís situation changes and they no longer qualify, they donít retain the permit.

EU migration continues to grow, but at a slower rate, but the politicians want to be seen as ensuring the rules are being followed.

I gleaned the above from one of the people on our village responsible for permits. Over a bottle of the local wine, or two. It is nothing new.
