Unless the UK reintroduces exchange controls, I don't think credit cards will be an issue. Pre 1979 you could not use UK ones abroad as foreign spending was strictly limited per person per trip.

Whereas the EU member state issued driving license will be leaping ahead, in terms of it's
acceptance and recognition in Europe & is even going to be accepted in Non EU, Non EEA
& Non EFTA countries like the United Kingdom in 2019 with the same terms and conditions
as when the UK was a member of the EU, with best of all NO IPD required; just like the
American Express Cards in its heyday.
