Hilariously enough ekathimerini did in fact cover the story as Blueangel suggested but not in the article she linked to but in one that goes further than the gatestone one :
If you'd dug a little deeper you'd have found that two ESRI members who were arrested earlier this year for what seems to be a minor thing, in February if memory serves, got the ball rolling.

However you'd also have found that only one vehicle is supposed to have been used (follow the link in the fourth paragraph). A van. One van. It is simply impossible to move 70'000 people illegally across the border over the course of about two years with a single van. Even if you assume 20 seats, that's five times back and forth each and every day, without any room for pause, maintenance, or any other kind of downtime. Simply not possible.

At the same time you'd also have come across the name Panos Moraitis, founder of ESRI and Aspida Maritime Security Corp. The latter is a mercenary company providing maritime protection services against Somalian pirates, among others.

The connection doesn't seem to be too far-fetched, the various arms could actually feed each other. Whether the allegations have any merit though is yet to be seen - innocent until proven guilty.
