But as London pays about 1/3rd of all UK tax - losing that third may well hae an effect on the general population. How could Mrs May, in those circumstances, promise the end of austerity - as the country if about to implode - is beyond me, and most people.
The government just printed money to save the Banks, far more than is received in tax from London, unfortunately inflation has not take off yet to reduce the debt.
It begs the question 'is income tax required' when a government can just print the money it wants with no apparent detriment to the country.
