In Switzerland, holiday is not paid out but must be held during the notice period except in extraordinary circumstances. It sounds like the company is offering a better deal but "available for request" sounds vague (I assume 7 weeks of vacation is 7 weeks of 2 days due to 40% employment).

The rules are that you must look for a job as soon as you know you are leaving your current one and you must be able to document that you have searched for a job. I've seen other places on here that you should start looking for a job after the 7th week of birth in case that you are unemployed and receive benefits. So I would ensure to have some documentation of a job search for RAV but I doubt that they will request that she go to interviews until after the 7th week from the birth. But I would confirm with RAV.
