Chinese came up with their own search engines and social media platforms. So did the Russians. I don't really see the Europeans coming up with any of their own stuff. It's easier for them to just latch into Facebook, Google, etc. So who's fault is that? Can't blame the Americans for Europeans laziness (I won't delve into the military here, that's a whole another thread in it's own )
