and I call bollocks on that! a new model mean new tooling and production line at that factory which means a huge investment, to make a new car costs hundreds of millions of pounds, so you would only invest that kind of money in a factory you intended to keep running. So for sunderland its looking very bad indeed, once nissan end of life the current range where does that leave them?

Now the incentive to build isn't there they are moving on, ok yesterday they said they would be build in Japan, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if in a couple of months they announce they will be built in eastern europe, they have a plant in russia as well as multiple plants in spain, an of course could use renault factories, eg dacia in romania.
So let me get this right, Nissan are going to open a factory in eastern Europe to build a car that nobody wants and with a motor that will likely soon be banned in Europe anyhow?
