I feel like I need to post an update, as the situation has resolved itself. THus, for anyone that might go through this:

1. Contacted Insurer A (the ones that have been radio silent for 6 months) and explained everything to them.
2. They have contacted Insurer B to figure out which one of them had signed me first(as it is, first come fist served here, and legally if you should be retained by the 1st one).

Outcome: Insurer A has cancelled my policy with them, as it would have been more of a hustle to keep me, considering that I was up to date with payments on Insurer B.
