Re: Old cars - service them or sell 'em cheap or trade them in..

We have a couple of old cars that we're going to rid of and replace with a brand new one..

Both are due their annual service about now, one is probably due expertise in a few months and the other probably still has a year.

I can't decide what's best to do, get them serviced, get expertise, sell privately, attempt to trade in or just sell them as they stand..

Volvo xc90 2.5t 2006 155k kms runs fine but has various scuffs and scrapes.
Mini cooper s clubman, 2008, 55k kms .. Runs fine and is in excellent condition.

We're going to buy a Mini ALL4 electric whatever its called so i thought i might trade in the mini at least.

What do the car experts think?
I would sell them both "ab platz" and see what you can get.
The electric Mini is likely to be a wanted car so your negotiation position for a trade in would be bad.
