Hi Milkshake,

I only got to Zurich two months ago and after a very short search, I settled on Batmaid. They've been coming to our house for four weeks.

The good:
- Their website's user interface is pretty easy
- I don't have to understand and/or deal with any paperwork regarding my obligations as an employer which is one thing off my plate in this move
- The staff at the office are great and always looking for a solution and will recommend cleaners to fit your needs (in my case, I asked, if it was possible that they assign me a cleaner who spoke a language I could understand - I gave a few choices- and all the cleaners so far speak at least one these languages.) I found them very responsive and really helpful, not least because whenever something has been unclear they call back to make sure they understood exactly what I wanted. Cannot say enough nice things about them, I have not had a single exchange that has been less than impressive over the phone.
- I have had cause to call in a couple of times because the cleaner has done fewer hours than contracted and it was immediately adjusted

The not so good:
- There were a lot of teething problems, and three cancelations in a row at the time the cleaner was supposed to arrive, so no time to make alternative arrangements
- The first person that came, was a very last minute replacement and not very thorough, which they seemed to know was probably going to be the case.
- I now have their highest rated cleaner (according to them) who is a very nice man in his early thirties, but I find myself having to give guidance to make sure things I think are obvious don't get done (think dusting lamps, over picture frames, hoovering under furniture, etc.)

So, I would definitely recommend them, because they do make things very easy for you as an employer. The cleaning standards are not dissimilar to what I have experienced with other cleaners hired directly and/or via an agency in other countries: it takes some time to train the person to work to your standards so you have to invest the time.

Hope this helps and good luck.

Thank you for the comprehensive information :-)
