Really? A UK approval only or was it a CH one? Which canton was that?

I had rims, right size, documents that they are ok in Germany... but since they did not sell in CH and the manufacturer or distributors did not have any approvals for that model in CH would I have to spend more bucks on getting them approved than to buy a set of new ones… but I heard that canton ZH is specifically annoying about this stuff.
