Re: Permit Approval / Quotas

View Post
I am Canadian and just got an offer from ABB at Baden. While I'm still reviewing that, I got to thinking what would happen if the cantonal authorities denied ABB's application on my behalf due to filled up quotas or something after I have already signed the offer and let my current employer know that I am leaving. Is this a real possibility?
Yes it is. Your contract/offer most likely includes some fine print about being conditional on having or getting authorization to work in Switzerland.
So I would definitely postpone resigning until your work permit is approved. If you have such a good relationship with your employer that you think it's okay to tell them now that you _might_ be resigning very soon and nothing would go wrong if you end up not resigning then sure, go ahead

On a separate subject, how do people thank other people? I just can't find that button!
I think it appears after you have 10 or so posts on the forum
