Yes, I believe that they must have seen that I had been on their electoral roll within the 15 years preceding and thus sent me out the paperwork. That was the requirement. There was no actual residence requirement legally speaking.
So... you don't live in the UK, have never contributed financially to the UK, but you felt the need to stand up and be counted - believed that you had the right to be able to vote about what happens to a country you don't live in and probably never will live in? That's pretty lousy.

And I would still like to know why Brexit is so great.
