As my old account prof, used to say hanging concentrates the mind... they now have all the responsibility and all the facts.... there is a very big difference between sitting on the sidelines and being on the playing field...

De Valera came to power in Ireland in 1932, the first republican minded Taoiseach (Prime Minister). He had spent 10 criticising the government and in particular the governments dealings with the UK. After having seen all the files and diplomatic documents he recorded comment was: my God they did brilliantly, but we can't ever admit it.
