I don't run with music much but if I do, I use a small mp3 player and wired in-ear headphones with the wire under my shirt so it doesn't get in the way.

My wife uses a wired ipod shuffle for running. (though she does have wireless Apple airpods which she uses when ironing ).

To be honest, I prefer to hear what is going on around me - especially when crossing roads or out in the countryside.
Same here. Not only because it is safer, but also because I like to hear the sounds around me, to be present then and there.
