Re: Are salaries for untrained people really that high?

unskilled jobs would be more like selling people stuff at a clothes shop without an EFZ, or working without an EFZ at an ultradiscount kurdish barbershop, or working as a cleaning lady.

First difficulty: you have to find those jobs (e.g. the barbershop will bring in people they know to work it), there is competition for them (many wives of asylees who can barely speak the language work as cleaning ladies and it's not their main source of income), and they might only be 50% or have irregular hours, with traveling and waste of time not accounted for. Or seasonal romanian workers on mountain locations or farms.

You can get to 3000 CHF/month full time, after all is said and done it's enough to live, but you're living the lifestyle of a student. Pic-nicking at the bar with your own alcohol, no car, limited traveling, WG or single room in the periphery.
