Re: Work in Switzerland, but live in UK?

Dear All,

I am new to this site and I am considering taking up a position in Switzerland. Following this thread I would be living in the UK and working in Switzerland up to 3 days per week.

I wonder whether anybody could please advise on the Social Security situation and the impact of the number of days worked between UK and Switzerland in terms of payments made in UK or payments in Switzerland?

I have been advised by the Company that one needs to work 4 days in Switzerland due to Social Security reasons but I am unclear as to whether this is a legal obligation.

In addition if anybody can advise on permits and whether you can work under a G permit if living in the UK then your advice would be greatly appreciated? I have been told you have to be located in a bordering country to get a G permit.

Any advice on these topics would be very gratefully received as I am round in circles!

Thank you

All depends where you are paid, if you have a Swiss salary it may work but a UK salary in Switzerland certainly won't work
