It’s a jolly good thing that 99% of people don’t care what happens on Twitter, nor do they share the same anger management issues as many of Twitter’s users. They’re too busy looking at what their friends have had for breakfast on Instagram, or learning how to do their nails on YouTube.

It was a daft gimmick that was noticed and challenged almost immediately. Any regular user of Twitter would have known this would be the outcome, which was likely the strategy as it gets people talking.
