I'm just happy when I can make my wobbly way on or off a train without being cursed at for daring to travel at rush hour while disabled.

In my part of Switzerland one is, both figuratively and literally, expected to stand on one's own two feet. And if one can't - 'selber schuld'.

It's just the Zeitgeist. You get used to it.
