Isn't one expected to support their parents or children if they have financial issues anywhere in this world?
Provided they're able to help. But careful here, FMF. Elderly care is a huuge issue in Europe, especially in countries where population is ageing, conditions in senior homes are not always good or too expensive etc etc You might need some immigrant to take care of your mom* (or child) while you're busily building your career or having a bliss in Mallorca......(you in general)
*as she deserves - constantly and at the highest standards meaning undivided attention....
