Firstly, most of the time the vouchers have to be exchanged in person at a ticket office. As the SBB have now closed most ticket offices in favour of machines, that cuts a lot of people out.
The conditions on the vouchers are quite restrictive or make the vouchers largely useless, like offering you a discount on something you already have and ensuring that the next time you might need it the voucher will have expired.
I bin the vouchers directly.
The one's that I have seen are valid only for 'new customers'. Not valid for renewals.
