Importing a car that was gifted

Good afternoon all,

Apologies if this has been asked, but I did have a good search and couldn't find anything.

My girlfriend is planning on moving to Zurich and is going to bring her car, which was recently gifted to her by her older sister who has upgraded to a larger model. At the moment the papers are still in her sisters name, and my girlfriend simply has a document from her sister stating that she has permission to drive it (to prove it isn't stolen).

They are in the process of sorting out transfering the papers and it occured to me that there could be some complications regarding importing the car into Switzerland, since technically my girlfriend will have owned it for less than 6 months (and I assume this will be reflected on the papers). Does this mean that she is liable to pay the importation tax? Since it was a gift and thus my girlfriend didn't pay anything for it, how would this work? 4% of 0 is 0, but I wouldn't fancy trying to explain to customs that this car is valued at 0 CHF .

Any advise would be appreciated!
