I just put our joint income into the Homegate.ch tax comparator, made us married and added a couple of kids (no church tax) and Baar was 8% more tax. I seem to recall property being more expensive too. Train takes the same time to Zurich HB as from Pfäffikon. That’s not to say Baar isn’t a bad shout though.

ETA I just halved our income and in that case Baar would be 11% cheaper, but I don’t think that’s enough in absolute terms to make up for the higher rent.
