In my defense I have had until now a good relationship with the owner. With hindsight they have spent zero maintenance on the property in nearly 8 years -I have even fixed many minor issues myself. They have now realized they have a backlog of issues and want me to rectify them. I was being pretty reasonable with their requests as I have time and the weather is good but the list just kept creeping.

I believe I am in a relatively good position having been a tenant for more than 5 years.
Switzerland is a unique mix of socialism and capitalism. It is in one's own interest to join a trade union and the tenants association if applicable, forget any political hang-ups that you may have.
