Re: Moving out and asked to pay heating charges for entire year

Normally you pay "Nebenkosten" (chauffage et charges) monthly in addition to the rent. Once a year they do the proper calculation of what's been used and who used it. Then you get an extra bill or they return some money, depending on the outcome.

When you move out, you basically have to wait until that point of year they do this. Then they send you a bill or return money. If you leave the country (handle "gone"?) it makes sense if you just agree on an estimate and have it done.
