Re: New balls please

Oh I don't know, we lived opposite the corner of Webergasse which was OK at first but then became very dodgy about a year after we moved there. By 10pm we used to count up to 16 drug dealers on the opposite side of the street to our flat (the problem being Star Grill's opening hours as they were dealing to people going in an out of there during the night). Lots of muggings near the barracks and around Klingentelgraben etc. Then to appease us we had all the Baschi Durr PR stunt with women against lamposts being painted on the pavements with a broken line to keep them coralled in (they got bold to it and ventured out onto the main street, seen a few shocked guys being grabbed by the crotch )

Our caretaker lived next door and resorted to filming what was going on at 6am and sending it to Basler Zeitung. The dealers used to hang about outside a dodgy club at Claraplatz that closed down, hence they moved round to pitches at Rebgasse / Untere Rebgasse. Got to the stage we couldn't sleep for dealers fighting and hookers screaming at each other so we decided to move on. The neighbours at the rear of our building said it was no better for them as the hookers used to take punters into the park at Claramattweg after dark. A shame as we had a lovely flat and nice neighbours, but the flat we found was a new build in Breite. Only a few stops into city and a nice district with St Alban, Gellert and Birsfelden on our doorstep.
With Covid-19 at least my old neighbours are getting peace because Webergasse is dead at the moment.
