Doing anything to children for religious reasons should be avoided apart from perhaps teaching them about the history of the major religions (something that doesn't always happen here in schools even though it's supposed to be part of the curriculum).

If they want to believe that the whole world is governed by a fictitious entity then that's fine but they should make their own mind up.

As for cutting off bits of your children because one, as a parent, believes in a fictitious entity makes me think society hasn't moved on at all since the days when people believed in witches.
