Right now, Dude, things are fairly tight when it comes to groups of people ... but that should not be new to you.

Most communities have smaller clubs where locals meet up for jam sessions. Though I am not sure about ZH ... here in Rheintal (between St. Gallen and Sargans) there are a couple small clubs, with a small stage, that organize jam sessions every couple of months. Have read about them in other parts of the country as well.

Most of the equipment and drums are supplied, as the change-overs should be timely.

My tipp, hit up a local club or concert hall when you arrive. Ask there, they should be able to set you with the right contacts in the branch. All of whom will speak English 😉
