Here are some light fittings and a cover.

The round cover comes with a spung clip to put inside the hole where the wiring is and then you screw on the cover.

The large round fittings were from Ikea and came with a paper corrogated/fan style lamp that fitted onto the buld. The metal eye goes onto on the the hooks, then the fitting goes flush to the ceiling.

The Black one is for hainging lights and comes in mainly black/white. The quality of these vary and this leads to how well the 'cup' fits to the ceiling.

There are many more types, but these are the one's I had to hand and need no drilling provided you have the large hole in the ceiling.
