I think she/he is talking about thge catogory on the driving license.
People which have a European AM, or did the category B before 2003 will get the Swiss A1 (45 km/h) license.

With A1 (45 km/h) you are allowed to ride 50ccm motorcycles restricted to 45 km/h.

Full A1 allows up to 125 ccm, 11 kW, and no speed restrictions (apart those of the road itself).

To ride on the Autobahn you need a motorcycle with at least 125 ccm. 50 ccm are not allowed on the Swiss autobahn even if it could go 80 km/h or more.
