The obvious difference being... *drumroll*... turmeric powder is dry to begin with and is handled (or should I say spooned) completely differently to fresh turmeric, which is already moist and needs to be peeled and chopped... all the while staining everything it touches!

Ahh, I do enjoy seeing you putting that wee blob of grey matter of yours into overdrive.
