The UK isn't going to be sub-servant to the US, it is simply going to be an independent trading, sovereign nation, like Canada, like Australia, like Japan. It is extremely unlikely that a trade deal between the UK and US is going to be signed anytime soon, not because of all the posturing from US politicians over Ireland, but simply because it is too politically sensitive at the moment. Which is a great shame but the UK will never accept US food standards nor the US agricultural requests that go along with a trade deal the way things are at the moment.
This doesn't change much anyway, the US is already the UK's biggest trading partner without a trade deal, it's just a shame if you're a free marketeer like I am.
