Let's say you get a 20k quote for a bathroom refit and then find there's an extra fee of 100k to sort out an asbestos problem. You'd be pretty unhappy about ignoring the potential asbestos issue or not taking it into account in the property value.
Thanks for another scary ASBESTOS story.

I bought a house from 1969 with some asbestos in a bathroom adhesive and in corrugated cement roof. Contractor quotes were the same as a usual roof replacement plus disposal fee for asbestos sheeting, which came to an extra few 100s.
