I don't expect people to agree with me on this, but if it were up to me, we'd shut everything* down again until a large percentage of the population has been vaccinated.

But perhaps even more than that, I'd shut everything* down long enough for the virus to die because it can't find a new host. The COVID virus dies after about 2 weeks when it cannot find a new host.

*Everything with the exception of grocery stores, pharmacies, hospitals and doctor's offices (of course).

If we don't want to still be dealing with this pandemic -- and a potentially much, much worse pandemic due to the new mutations -- we need to do something drastic. It's just an unfortunate reality, and I don't think we should wait until the situation is uncontrollable to try to control it.
