Politicians are, of course, politicians but I had always thought, perhaps foolishly, that US Senators were a step above.
Now we have the prospect of a group of such Senators standing up in Congress and supporting fact-free conspiracy theories that have been thrown out in over 60 court cases including by the Federal and several State Supreme Courts. It really makes the banana republics look almost respectable.
Aside from a few rabid Trump cult members who believe every Trump lie these senators should lose their credibility with most people.

Probably more worrying is this Jan 6th planned march in DC where no doubt many gun carrying thugs will turn up to venerate Trump.
