Our GP is French, and works across the border, in French speaking Romandie- we do understand each other very well

- sometimes we even speak in English, for fun- and I teach her son and his friends.
But yes, I agree. Even C1 is too low- and then of course there is the ability to understand dialect, and older people who do speak very 'local'- words, expressions, accents.
