Why would they consider returning and living in the UK if they are permanently in another country?
At the end of the day, it's as 'permanent as the conditions are favourable in their newly adopted country'.
I've lost count of the number of Expats who say they have 'permanently emigrated' to another country
and wouldn't dream of going back to the old country again. Only for 'force of circumstances' or
other unforeseen events to put a spanner in the works, eg Brexit or the Pandemic, whether it be 3 ,10,
20 or 30 years or more after they moved.
