Re: Leaving my apt. soon - how to deal with damages?

Hi,

I will soon leave my apartment and I'm double-checking the state of the property in view of the final inspection. I realized I have a couple of small damages which were not reported at the time, e.g. the electrical blinds work perfectly but some of the plastic guides are broken.

What is the best way to handle these?
  1. I have them repaired privately before handing out the keys
  2. I tell the administration (Verwaltung) right now
  3. I wait until the final inspection and I'll pay "something" for it

Note that I don't want to hide anything, I'm mostly trying to avoid to overcomplicate the final inspection with discussions.

Thanks for your feedback!
It's likely to be cheaper to get it done by yourself, is an insurance claim involved or very minor?
