Conclusion: the risks of working in CH as an employee are REAL. In my case I have been squeezed like a contractor. At least I was lucky as my colleagues who joined later cannot even get the unemployment benefits.
Certainly coming from somewhere like the UK (such as the UK, for those who don't understand) where you have a certain amount of job protection, working in Switzerland is very insecure. At least we get more than the oft quoted US "two weeks notice".

Even if you work here as a contractor, you're usually contrived into an employment contract with the same statutory protection as any other employee, including unemployment insurance. The protection if you do lose your job after 12 months is also REAL.
