I don’t believe taking the contraceptive pill requires a smear test every year but will probably require a visit to the gynaecologist for the prescription renewal. That should be covered as a general visit.

Having said that I have one annually and my insurance has always paid, I think some insurers are more generous than others when applying the rules.
I have a Pap smear yearly, but I had breast cancer nearly 11 years ago so I suppose I’m at higher risk. I can’t speak to contraception coverage…too old for that sh*t. Pap smear is covered (I have Swica, telmed, basic).

Either your gyn or gp can write the script.
