Re: Swiss returning, employment still in non-EU, how to register?

Thank you, LtSoftDrink, that response was very helpful, becuase it told me where to start.

The AHV-Zweigstelle in the area in which Sandra will be living has confirmed that this will work. First, she returns to Switzerland and registers as living here. Next, she registers with the AHV-Zweigstelle as living in Switzerland but having a foreign employer.

There are then two alternative routes:
  1. The foreign employer registers with the Swiss AHV and pays in the contributions (an unlikely scenario other than, perhaps, for large employers with many employees in that situation),
    or
  2. Sandra herself registers with the Zweigstelle and pays in both the employer's and the employee's AHV contributions. She does this either out of her own pocket or else negotiates with her foreign employer for those contributions to be part of her remuneration package.
